SPRING'S HERE!! ( at last )
The Humber River ( which empties into Lake Ontario ) passes by near our house. The greeneries around its banks have started to take color again. The trees are still bare but in a few days, they will sprout their green leaves and will be garbed in their spring/summer outfits!
A remnant of Spring 2006. This tree is just beside the bridge overlooking the Humber River where I took some pictures. I wonder if the owner of this nest will use it again this year..Looks as if it is still in good shape!
Our personal "nest" along Dixon Road. After a week end of work put in by me and Miguelita, its landscape is putting on the flower-and-grass look.It will be on its full glory come June-July-August..
A close up of the two "young lovers".The boy is pointing at something in the sky. I think this piece is called STAR GAZERS...It is located on the right of our front steps...
In a corner of our garden is the Forsythia, the first shrub to bloom during Spring..The yellow flowers would soon give way to its leaves..next to flower would be the crab apple tree whose red flowers would dominate a tree right beside our deck...
Now, a mini tour of our front garden..The tulips are now in full regalia. In a few days, ( especially after a heavy rain ) the bulbs will all fall to the ground to come out again next year . I displayed a collection of small houses which I picked out from various garage sales over the years...
A frontal view of the previous photograph..The small houses could be better viewed from this angle..In a few weeks the barren soil will sprout with the perennials that have been there since we started this gardening hobby..
A continuation of the previous shot. We transfered the trophy we received last year for winning the first prize garden. Nobody would steal it because it really is heavy. That small house beside it is made from twigs, glued and nailed together by a hobbyist who loves what he is doing. We usually bring it in during the winter months...
The full frontal..This faces the street ( Dixon Road ). The small clumps of green are the phlox plants. They would soon grow up, 5 to 6 feet tall and would sprout colorful blossoms of red, white, purple etc. These would be, ( among the other stuff seen in the garden ) the crowning glory of 19 Dixon Road. ---#
