day 1 ( continuation )
Toronto has a new and an an old City Hall..The old city hall looks very antiquated with gargoyles on its roofs and all. It has also a very historic ( and haunted ) interior. A stone throw away is the new City hall with a unique architecture: two buildings shaped like a set of open and closed parenthesis if viewed from the top. The last movie shot here was Resident Evil part 2.
At the steps of the Old City Hall...
Tried to get a closer and better shot...
There were some ice sculptures in front of the new City hall ( a set of buildings carved out of ice grouped together and called ICE CITY ) . We changed our minds checking it because it was really fricking cold at that moment. We just proceeded to the public library just in time for its closing. From there we went to a friends house which was just walking distance. We had a sumptous supper in there..
Rain in front of the new City Hall just beside the skating rink on what is called the the Nathan Philips Square..
From the City Hall we proceeded to the Library. As I have mentioned in previous entries in the Journal, this particular library became the set of Ron Howard's 2nd to the last movie called CINDERELLA MAN...
In front of a display shelf whose exhibits change every now and then...
Inside the Branch Head's Office..
With Sparky the Puppet Dog..Miguelita uses this puppet to beef up her children's story program..
Beside a Chinese Lion. February 11, incidentally is the Chinese New Year..
Cuddling Sparky...
All those books and no time to read 'em!
Next: Visit to the winery at the Niagara on the Lake, day 2
