Banyan Trees..
..are kind of scary to look at, much more to climb. Just looking at those branches and vines evoke visions of ghosts, goblins, pugot and other creatures that go wandering at night!
But I saw some people sleeping on those benches. This park is close to the Waikiki beach.
If you stare at the base long enough, you'd swear you will see some yellow eyes staring back at you!
The Diamondhead, that mountain which symbolizes Hawaii. There is a park inside the crater. In fact most of Hawaii's mountains are dormant volcanoes..
Yes, heed the sign. Otherwise a hand from under the mound would grab you by the feet..JUST KIDDING!
Mahalo means thank you another common word used . The other one is ALOHA. The Filipina cashier at a MacDonald's joint here would always say ALOHA, take your order, then say MAHALO..
One of the lovely statues ( and there are so many of them including mahatma Ghandi's ) gracing the park near Waikiki beach..
No wonder sometimes it is called BLUEHAWAII..
You can stay and relax on the beach for hours and hours...
Parkettes like this one line up the long street along the Waikiki beach..Each one has a statue which tells a particular story..
Beach lovers...Bikini clad swimmers would just walk back to their hotels with nothing but a beach towel on their shoulders..
