REMEMBERING HAWAII
HAWAII is one place where the heaven meets the sea, where spirituality touches the earth and where the East meets the West.
We visited this paradise May of last year. Our host was Juliet Uson of Asingan who brought us around. We stayed in a hotel just a stone's throw away from Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. We met many other Filipinos in this city and walking about in the beach and hotel area reminds one so much of Manila. Going to the parks would remind you of Baguio City.
Miguelita and some Asinganians when we had a picnic at the Chinaman's Hat.
Lush vegetation in radiant colours abound in the Hawaiian landscape..
Yes, Virginia, there is indeed a Chinaman's Hat, and it really looks like a Chinaman's hat...
These hills along Kamehameha Highway are very similar to the ones found along Kennon road going up the City of Pines..
A stopover, to take some photos and give the hostess Juliet ( lady in center ) a break in driving..
The next three shots are typically Hawaiian: craggy rocks, frothing waves that endlessly pound on them for the last thousands (?) of years...
If I am not mistaken, this spot is called THE BLUE HOLE. The water is blue, all right, but it would take you a whole day to find the hole.
A stroll along the beach hand-in-hand with your partner would really be romantic...
The walk would end on top of this cliff overlooking the serene waters...
These banyan trees are really scary looking. But some homeless people in Honolulu sleep in benches under them..
