HEEERE'S JOHNNY!

Hello Vic,

    Here I am your old buddy. It’s true it has been a long long time that we did not see each other. From the time we went to high school we separated coz you enrolled in the RA and I enrolled in the PIA. I recalled those days when my cousin Serafin and I passed by your house every morning and afternoon in going to the South Central school. Three of us went together  from Grades ! under Mrs. Lising, grade !!  under Mrs. P. Gascon, grade !!! under Mrs. M. Bugayong and Grade !V , Mr. C.Legaspi….then we went to school in Dupac (North Central school) , Gr. V under Mr. Melecio Villanueva & Mr.A. Santiago, Gr. V!. However the following names were our classmates….can you still remember them?  Hope sooooooo..Here they are.

Tomas Talania, Tolentino Antonio (Deceased), Daviid Tabin., Aurelio Cortado (in LA) , Purita Palma Dagang, Aurora Pascua, Serafin Garna, Ginez dela Cruz, Matias Mangsong Jr. Juan Sindayen, Editha Chua Sindayen (D), Caliope Chua Co Teok, Warlita Perillo9, Rudy Dumapias (Ambassador in Mexico), Col. Amado Magsanoc Benito, Rudy Esteban (D) Jose Montoya, Amelia Eleazar, Eliseo Villar (panaderia), Estrella Masinas, Jaime Apelo (Pandesal), Nieva Domaoan (valedictorian) and you our salutatorian, Ismael Domaoan, Canada), Paeng Ocreto (Gr. V) he came from Toboy coz his Mom was a teacher there, Cecilia dela Vega  Ocreto (D) wife of Paeng, she was a good singer, Arturo Santiago, Romeo Castillo (Hapon D), Felimon Fernandez, Batting Fernandez, Jaime Badua (D), Juan Malalang (D), Hermimio Tabion, Cesar Alejo (D), Vicente Fernandez,Ernesto Suratos , Esteban Paringit Jr, , Noemi Agsalud, Nestor Villanueva, Jose Bugayong, and Arturo Tayaba….Hope I did not miss any one….

      Well my family and I came here in San Diego on Aug. 15, 1983 ……after 21 yrs. In the public schools in our town. I started teaching way back in 1962 just after graduating from the Pangasinan  Normal School in Bayambang till we came to this land of the free and a good foundation for the future of our children….I got three 3 kids  ( I girl) and 2 boys….our girl is the eldest w/ 3 kids while the two boys are still bachelors….Our girl stays in Fort Lauderdale w/  her husband and the kids, while the boys live here in San Diego (Mira Mesa)  Your cousin Rudy Mejia was our neighbor in Mira Mesa in fact in one of our meetings of our Asingan Association in San Diego, your brother , Manong Atong and his wife were with us at that time w/ Manong Rudy. If in the near future you will be here in San Diego please let me know, I am eager to see you and your loved ones….I want to sit down w/ you and recall those fun memories of yesteryears….In fact as you said I will tell stories and you do the writing. APPROVED…

      Excuse my writing coz it’s bad especially my tenses…..okay? This is just the beginning , I will send you my recollect-

ions by the next e-mail….I have lots of stories being recalled by now .

Hi Johnny,

Holy S...t! with a memory like yours you should have been the salututorian, not me! Your memory is like a trap, once it gets something it never let it go! Anyways, I will reserve a much longer e-mail for you in your regular e-mail address, so we will have more privacy...! Could not resist publishing your letter because

a) It may get lots of feedbacks from our Elementary school friends...

b) I wanna check the names of the ones for whom I had early crushes

c) It really brings me back to Asingan in VR (virtual reality) just thinking re: the Elementary years..

 

Some people say what U learned in Elementary sticks with you for the rest of your life..
